As an incentive for new members, everyone who signs up before the end of this year's Festival, will be entered in a draw for a case of wine, generously donated by South Downs Cellars. Please tell your friends about this and encourage them to join.

What's in it for you?

As you well know, there are benefits for you and for the Festival.

You will always be invited to a preview event and given one of the first copies of the programme and then have a few days before the main distribution to choose your events. This year, the first year of the Friends, we had a very enjoyable programme launch gathering in the New Inn garden on the sunny evening of the day the programme was delivered ... it was touch and go! The delivery van arrived only a few hours before the party was due to start!

Joining the friends allows priority booking so where there are events with small numbers of tickets available, you will be able to get your first choice of events. Most of the people who came to the launch party – which was on a Friday evening - chose their events over the weekend and booked on the Monday morning.

What's in it for the Festival?

Your financial support gives you the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping the Festival to plan ahead, and to pay for rather mundane things that are not related to events, such as insurance, publicity materials, hiring the community bus and many other things without which we could not possibly function.

We need you to give us feedback about how we are managing the Festival. As a Friend, you are in a good position to ask other people in the community what they think and then tell us, either through the website or in person. We need this sort of information so that we can improve how we do things. We'd like you to tell people that we, you, and our helpers, are all volunteers and we all do our best, but please be tolerant if things are not quite perfect and make constructive suggestions about how we can do better!
